While FGCs follow a structured process, working with adults brings unique challenges that require specific knowledge and upskilling. This one-day conversion course is designed for experienced FGC Coordinators who want to expand their practice to adult services.

Since 2007, we’ve been delivering FGCs in adult settings - across both statutory and community-based services. This course draws on that extensive, hands-on experience to help you apply the FGC model effectively with adults.

By the end of the course, you will:

• Understand current legislation and guidance around safeguarding adults

• Recognise the benefits of FGCs in adult services and multiagency collaboration

• Explore how and why FGCs differ in adult safeguarding or wellbeing contexts -including situations involving capacity issues

• Learn how capacity can affect preparation, agreements, and implementation of FGC plans

• Gain insight into the importance of support options for adult participants

• Understand confidentiality rights and when they may be overridden in safeguarding situations

This interactive one-day course includes group work, real-life scenarios, and reflective discussions. You'll explore the challenges of coordinating adult FGCs and how to support meaningful and inclusive participation.
