Daybreak offers a range of support to local authorities that are interested in creating their own family group conference (FGC) service or that have chosen to keep their service ‘in-house’. Depending on how far an authority has progressed, we can help in one of three ways:
- For authorities that do not have an FGC service but are considering the establishment of one, we can provide advice on the merits of the different options available (eg in-house or outsourced), benefits and costs, how to move forward, and pitfalls to avoid.
- For authorities that have decided to set up an in-house-service, we can help establish a new service with strategic planning, policies and procedures, training of managers and coordinators, data management and budgeting.
- For authorities that want to improve the performance of an existing service, our support can include conducting a diagnostic health check and then working with the authority to implement any changes considered necessary.
