Daybreak offers a range of support to local authorities that are interested in creating their own family group conference (FGC) service or that have chosen to keep their service ‘in-house’. Depending on how far an authority has progressed, we can help in one of three ways:
- For authorities that do not have an FGC service but are considering the establishment of one, we can provide advice on the merits of the different options available (eg in-house or outsourced), benefits and costs, how to move forward, and pitfalls to avoid.
- For authorities that have decided to set up an in-house-service, we can help establish a new service with strategic planning, policies and procedures, training of managers and coordinators, data management and budgeting.
- For authorities that want to improve the performance of an existing service, our support can include conducting a diagnostic health check and then working with the authority to implement any changes considered necessary.
In all cases, our advisers are able to draw on Daybreak’s unrivalled experience and expertise which has been built up over more than 20 years of delivering FGCs. They are committed to sharing that knowledge to help create excellent FGC services and more than 25 children’s services departments have already benefitted from that support.
